So last week I posted a story about how my latest podcast would help folks with content creation for the end of summer, and, well… I got a few DMs about the fact that it’s early August and summer is very much not ending. Which like yes, hi, true, and I do apologize for coming in with that violence. And but also… I want to tell you what I told them. I released that podcast in early August to make sure we’re all prepped, sorted and supported for whatever juicy sales activities we’re dreaming of come September and beyond. Because I’ve spent too many summers in this business seeing my brilliant people wait to the last minute to get back into the flow of creating and connecting with their people and mapping their launch plans, then suffering the chaos (and all too often, lackluster sales results) that ensue. So if you’re in the not fully checked out, not fully back in zone… The somewhere in the middle, half-enjoying the last bit of summer, half-starting to think… ‘okay, so what is actually happening in September?’ moment… And if you’ve got a launch coming, or a sales campaign you want to run, or an offer you want to bring people into before Q4, that background hum of I should probably start thinking about this is going to get louder. This latest episode of the pod is for you. I walked through the exact process I use to map content for in-between seasons like this one. Not campaign content (that episode’s coming soon for Q4 sales), but the evergreen, visibility-building, audience-warming, connection content you want to have mapped and ready before you’re actively selling. The four steps I cover are… ✨ Define your core platform, the one you always start with, based on where you have the least resistance creating
✨ Identify what your content needs to do for your people right now, based on what they’re actually thinking, wondering, and feeling in this specific season
✨ Filter your topics, against your goals, your capacity, and whether you actually want to spend time on this one right now
✨ Map it all at once, aka the Beautiful Mind phase, where you can see the full arc of what you’re creating and sequence it so it builds instead of just accumulates
When this is done, you go into your creation process knowing every topic, every angle, and every platform is accounted for. The decision fatigue is gone before you even start creating, which makes getting into a flow state 1000x easier. It might even get you to enjoy the process of creating your marketing assets? And that shift, from reactive selling once summer ends, to prepared and connecting with your people ahead of time is what makes the actual selling feel different. Your people have been warmed. They’re actually talking to you, so you don’t feel like you’re screaming into the void. They’re on the same page about the problem you’re speaking about and the desires they’ve got on the other side - the ones you’ll help them get. You’re not going zero to a hundred overnight. And you’ve got brain space left over to be creative and responsive once your campaign is in motion. So hey, go give it a listen (ideally poolside, lakeside, beachside, campfire side?) and let me know what you think? The price goes up in Q4 and I have a handful of spots left at $1,500. If you want in before that changes, now’s the time. Get the deets here. Last Christmas, my sister-in-law got me a delightful paint by numbers kit. It was made by a company called Breathe People, and included digital resources to make the painting situation into a lovely little meditative experience. And like the small business nerd that I am, I creeped on their website as soon as I opened the box last weekend to get my paint on. Which leads me to the marketing + lead gen idea I want to share with ya. On their site, they have a Let’s Collaborate link that heads...
So, there is a very particular kind of founder I see a lot in my world... largely because I tend to connect with folks who are EPIC at what they do, but still not hitting the level of consistent, dependable, and frankly life-changing money they want to be making from their business. That was me for the first 3 years of my business... And it's the thing where you're not confused about whether you can sell. When you are in a room with someone, or talking to them in the DMs, or on a sales call,...
I had a chat a few weeks ago with a newer client whose business sells digital products and courses who said something I hear constantly, especially this year… “I can sell… but only when I’m like fully in it. When I’m fully on.” Fully focused. Fully energized and healthy. Fully clear on and connected to the offer. When there’s a full plan, and the visibility has been on lock, and you’re feeling yourself because damn, you did actually do all the things you said you were going to do. When she...
